Monday
The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers is hosting a Contemporary Canadian Cinema series, and on Monday they’ll be screening a film by an Inuk filmmaker that re-contextualizes an Inuit myth. The screening is free for both members and non-members, and takes place at 6 p.m. inside CSIF’s space on 10 Ave S.W.
Tuesday
Head to the Palomino on Tuesday at 7 p.m. for the Calgary stop of Unsane’s tour. Unsane, a longstanding New York noise rock band, will be playing their 1998 album Occupational Hazard, an abrasive record that blends punk, metal and industrial — bring earplugs and prepare to mosh. Opening for them is the psychedelic drone doom band Pure Love Eternal Peace and the noise post rock group Bat Leather.
Wednesday
Hump day brings with it The Revue, a luxury burlesque and cabaret show taking place at Untitled Champagne Lounge. The show is hosted by Valentina Sorrow and Ravin Royal and features performances by Demi Dextrous, Holly Graphic and Scarlet Leather. You can expect acts that are equally polished, glamourous and playful. The show starts at 7 p.m., and you can reserve tickets online for a little over $20.
Thursday
The 2026 iteration of the Calgary International Film Festival kicks off on Thursday, where you can catch four films at either the Globe Theatre, Contemporary Calgary’s Dome or The Grand’s Flanagan Theatre. However, this is only the beginning. The festival continues until October 4, with over 200 feature and short films screening in theatres across the city. Friday
It’s a good week to be a hardcore punk enthusiast. On Friday night, Dickens welcomes to the stage NYC post-hardcore act Quicksand and Toronto hardcore band Fucked Up as co-headliners. Doors are at 8 p.m. and tickets starting from $48 are available at dickensyyc.com.
Saturday
On Saturday, The Alcove Beltline and The Fourth Space are putting on Love Letters From the Diaspora, a evening of storytelling sponsored by Calgary Culture Days. This cozy event will feature stories, songs and poetry that explore love across cultures. The night will close out with an open mic segments, where you can share your own musings on love. Reasonably priced at just over $6, you can find tickets at alcoveartscentre.ca.
Sunday
To finish off the week, cheer on Calgary Wild FC as they play the Vancouver Rise at McMahon Stadium on Sunday at 2 p.m. To catch the action live, secure your tickets at calgarywildfc.com, with prices ranging from $29-$66.
