The Gift held its red carpet premiere at The Globe Cinema on May 20, screening the first two episodes of season one.
Creator and star Therese “Tag” Goulet — known on screen as The Sugar Mama — walked the pink carpet alongside cast members Robert Adams (The Dream Angel Cowboy), Francheska Dynamites (starring in the third season of Canada’s A Drag), and Dr. Lolly de Jonge, CEO of IndigeKin Productions and host of the series.
The nine-episode show follows 12 Alberta creatives competing for a $100,000 prize from an arts matron, The Sugar Mama. More than half the cast identify as 2SLGBTQ+.
Filmed at the Azuridge Estate in Priddis, the series is currently available in the US and comes to Canadian audiences this summer.
