With a stacked lineup of genre-bending films, from cult favourites to international premieres, it’s a rare chance to catch movies that don’t usually hit mainstream theatres. Screenings run from 4:30 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. with films such as Saccharine, The Scout, and Affection playing, full listings available online. Celebrate Earth Day at The Plaza with The Last Howl, a Canadian documentary following filmmaker Matt Paproski and his brother Troy on a decades-long journey raising and protecting wolves. Presented by the Chinook Kiwanis Club, this exclusive screening blends personal storytelling with environmental advocacy, giving audiences the chance to reflect on their connection with the earth from 5:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Tickets are $25.

Thursday
Welcome spring at the Blue Grass Garden Centre for their Spring Fling Fiesta from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. As the greenhouse transforms into a vibrant hangout space, expect music, drinks, local vendors, and an abundance of fresh blooms, plus raffles and giveaways throughout the evening. With a suggested $5 donation to the Airdrie Food Bank, it’s a great way to kick off spring on a high note.
Friday
If you’re into comics, gaming, or just all things pop culture, don’t miss the Calgary Expo at Stampede Park. This four-day event brings celebrity guests, panels, cosplays, and much more, featuring something for every fandom out there. Admission is $45 for adults on Friday, $35 for youth and grants you entry from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Saturday
Award-winning country music star Tenille Townes joins the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra for a set of her biggest hits at The Jack Singer Concert Hall. Blending heartfelt lyrics with full symphonic sound, this is a rare chance to experience live country music backed by a full orchestra, don’t miss it! The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and tickets range from $63 to $107.
Sunday
Calling all animal lovers, Petfest is taking over Spruce Meadows. Expect everything from Corgi races to live demos, exotic animals and a mini petting zoo. The event features over 60 vendors, plenty of animals waiting to be adopted, and family-friendly fun all day long. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tickets are $18 for general; $10 for kids.
