MONDAY

Start your December the smart way. Head to Memorial Park Library for Wordfestivus. All your favourite indie bookstores will be there: Cookbook Co. Cooks, Owl’s Nest Books, Shelf Life Books, and Slow Burn Books — each sharing their favourite books of the year. You can also grab a Wordfest 2026 season pass, book accessories, and sweet treats. Drop in anytime from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. The event is free; RSVP at wordfest.com.

TUESDAY

Tuesday calls for some Music Singo Bingo at Jameson’s Pub. Sing along to your favourite songs, win the bingo, and enjoy pub food and drinks. The event starts at 7 p.m. at both Jamesons locations: Brentwood and 17th Avenue. Bring friends or go solo. And if you want more bingo challenges beyond the music ones, check out the Scene Holiday Bingo!

WEDNESDAY

Catch AE West’s Artist Extravaganza Showcase presented by Canada’s Music Incubator and the National Music Centre. It’s a FREE live concert at the King Eddy. Featured artists include A.N., Eden Taylor, Julia Vos, Roya Camille, Ruby Swan, and more. The show starts at 8 p.m., first-come, first-served.

THURSDAY

Have some laughs! Faris Hytiaa headlines at Limber Hollow, joined by a lineup of comics who’ve appeared on Just For Laughs, CBC’s The Debaters, and now tour across the country. Tickets are $12 on Eventbrite.

FRIDAY

Movie night on Friday! Calgary’s Francophone Film Festival kicks off at the Globe, celebrating emerging Francophone filmmakers. And if you prefer something more mean-and-green, The GRAND is screening two Grinch films. Costumes are always encouraged.

And if you’re looking to blow your ear drums out, check out Neon Taste weekend this Friday and Saturday at the Palomino. Hosted by Calgary’s best new record shop Neon Taste, this two-day party includes sets from local boys Closetalkers, Negative Charge, Winnipeg’s Jug, and The Imploders out of Toronto, who just released an extremely gnarly new record called Targeted for Termination! Grab tickets at thepalomino.ca.

SATURDAY

Saturday brings a Santa storm. Take a free photo with Santa at Splitsville Bowl Creekside from 1–3 p.m. Skate with Santa at the Olympic Oval and shop their holiday market. Or have tea with Mrs. Claus at Calgary Farmers’ Market West at 1 p.m. However you like your festive vibes, the city has a Santa for everyone.

SUNDAY

Watch the Nutcracker face off against the Mouse King in a beautiful ballet performance at University Theatre. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $25 and are available at arts.ucalgary.ca.
