MONDAY

ChamberFest West kicks off its fourth year on Monday with “Lost and Found,” which runs all the way until Saturday. For the whole week, concerts are cropping up all over Calgary where you’ll be immersed in classical music, including old favourites and new works. There’s one concert a day for the whole week, so pick and choose which one takes your fancy. Tickets are $52.50 per show, but if you’re more chamber music curious, check out the free community concert over at cSPACE Monday evening. It’s outside on the lawn, so bring a blanket or some lawn chairs and enjoy the sounds of piano and violin wafting over you.

WEDNESDAY

If you haven’t had the chance to check out Ratboy Comedy before, be sure to head to Vern’s on Wednesday evening. Whether you’re watching newcomers or community staples, you’re going to leave this weekly open mic with your ribs hurting. It costs $5 at the door – or on Eventbrite – with doors at eight and the show starting at 8:30 p.m. If you’ve got a tight five that you’re looking to show off, be sure to come by at eight or earlier to be there in time for sign-up.

THURSDAY

Even if you haven’t donned a pair of in-line skates since elementary school, there’s fun to be found with Queer Calgary’s roller skating meet up over at House of Skate on Thursday at 7:30p.m.. If you’re looking to meet some like-minded friends in a low-pressure environment, then queer roller skating is a fun way to do it. It’s $ 18 for admission and another $ 8 to rent the skates. Roll around and make some new friends!

FRIDAY

Hamilton rock quartet, Rose Cora Perry & The Truth Untold, take over Vern’s on Friday, marking their debut in Calgary. The show is part of their 2025 Phoenix Rising tour. The band has travelled all over the US and Canada. Alongside The Truth Untold, local faves Tori Morley, Cas Jade, Even Odds and The Brotherhood of Lost Souls are playing. Doors open at 8 p.m., and the cover is only $10 at the door, so it’s a cheapskate-friendly way to rock all night.

If you’re officially fed up with the summer heat, then there’s good news: YYC Ice Cream Fest is back again, starting on Friday. Open up Instagram because participating shops are going to reveal their chilly creations starting at noon on Monday. Get a sneak peek at these treats and plan out the spots you’ll need to hit in the next month.

SATURDAY

Stampede is done, but that festival spirit continues with Fiestaval Latino Festival this weekend at Eau Claire Plaza. From 11 am to 11 pm all weekend, enjoy authentic Latino cuisine from over 30 food vendors, non-stop live entertainment (including luchadors), an artisan market, a beer garden, and even some activities for the kiddos. The best part? It’s completely free.

SUNDAY

End your weekend by relaxing and unwinding with some furry friends at Rebarkable Retreats’ Puppy Yoga. Hit downward dog along with some adorable pups in this beginner-level yoga class. It’s a fun time, whether you’re looking for a workout or just hoping to spend some time with some dogs. The class costs $40 and begins at 10:30 am on Sunday; it’s recommended that you arrive 10 minutes early to set up. Bring your yoga mat – and a towel in case the pups have a little too – and enjoy the most adorable workout class you’ve ever attended.
