MONDAY

This Monday, in the lead-up to Truth and Reconciliation Day, experience an Indigenous Art Walk with Mackenzie Kamâmak Brown, a Calgary-based Néhinaw artist. The tour starts at the Alexandra Centre in Inglewood and lasts approximately two hours, from 6 to 8:00 p.m. To book your tickets, visit zucminguiding.com.

TUESDAY

On Tuesday, Werklund Centre hosts multiple cultural events throughout the day, from 11 a.m. to 9.30 p.m. Highlights include the Indigenous Makers Market and Pow Wow Showcase, the Elders Story Project at Jack Singer Concert Hall, Werklund Centre Gallery Talks & Tours, and Echoes of the Land, a live music show at Engineered Air Theatre. WEDNESDAY

Wednesday kicks off quite literally with Spruce Meadows Oktoberfest. Watch horses and riders compete in outdoor tournaments and bring the whole family. The event runs until October 5. No tickets required.

THURSDAY

On Thursday, catch UK drum-and-bass sensation Wilkinson as he brings high-energy beats and hit tracks to The Palace Theatre for one night only. The show starts at 9 p.m. and is for adults 18 and older. Tickets are $48 and can be booked at ticketweb.ca.

FRIDAY

If you’re not into electronic music, this Friday, the Calgary Phil with conductor Julian Kuerti performs two world classics: Mozart’s Symphony No. 40 and Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony. Additionally, principal Horn Nikolette LaBonte features in Kurt Atterberg’s Horn Concerto. The concert starts at 7.30 p.m. at Jack Singer. You can also catch it on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Tickets start at $32; pick them up at calgaryphil.com.

SATURDAY

Ever wanted to attend a fashion show with a carnival charm? This Saturday, don’t miss your chance! Set under candlelight, From Dusk ‘til Dawn: A Carnival Affair offers dark glamour, roaming clowns, live tarot readings, surreal costumes, and more. Doors open at  6 p.m. at Saskatoon Farm in Foothills County. Grab your tickets at dusktildawncarnival.ca

SUNDAY

And for the hockey fans, on Sunday, the Calgary Hitmen take the ice for the first of five games this month. Get into the excitement of Hitmen vs. Lethbridge Hurricanes at the Scotiabank Saddledome, 4 p.m. Tickets are $31, way cheaper than Flames tickets, and are available at ticketmaster.ca.
