MONDAY

Kick off Monday at Southcentre Mall with family-friendly holiday fun. Explore Santa’s Enchanted Forest, or bring your furry friends for Paws with Claus, where even pets can meet Santa! Both events are available daily during the mall hours.

TUESDAY

Head to StoryBook Theatre for Miracle on 34th Street. Spend a couple of hours with Kris Kringle and young Susan, and let yourself believe in magic again. Shows run almost daily through December, except Mondays. For more details, check storybooktheatre.org.

WEDNESDAY

Brings something different: explore the disjointed and dangerous “wild west” in Alberta Number One, a poetic, eccentric documentary by Alexander Carson. Catch it at Plaza at 8:40 p.m., followed by a Q&A with the director. Tickets are just $13.

THURSDAY

Skate Canada Challenge returns to Calgary this Thursday. Watch top figure skaters compete at 7 Chiefs Sportsplex. Check the schedule at skatecanada.ca and see Canada’s best take the ice!

FRIDAY

Rock fans, Friday is yours: Papa Roach hits Saddledome with their explosive Rise of the Roach Tour. Experience one of the biggest names in rock music. Show starts at 7 p.m.; tickets are available on Ticketmaster.

SATURDAY

The Grand goes cosmic with COSMIC HEAT, a sci-fi–inspired dance show presented by Maven Movement. Expect heels, special guests, and a galaxy of music and effects. The show is loud and full of spectacle — complimentary earplugs will be available at the door. Tickets are $35 on Eventbrite.

SUNDAY

Ever wanted to experience a Victorian Christmas ceremony? Lougheed House welcomes everyone to the Christmas Afternoon Tea, which isn’t quite “afternoon,” running from 10 to 11 a.m. A Certain Flair Catering will serve sweets and savouries throughout the historic main floor. Tickets include museum admission, so take a moment to explore the house as well.
