Wave goodbye to July tonight at The Inglewood Pollinator Park Market. This free event on 9th Ave and 9th Street is happening every Tuesday until the end of October. The market goes from 4 till 8 p.m. and features tons of local vendors.
Ludacris is tearing up the Grey Eagle Event Centre stage tomorrow with tracks like Stand Up, Get Back, and Number One Spot. If you missed the rapper last year at the Back Alley tent, this is your chance! Doors are at 6:30, with standing room only tickets.

This months edition of Six Degrees of Movie Trivia features minigames and specials on Philips Brewing beer, along with a whole round on “hot” movies. Head to Dickens at 7 p.m. with five measely bucks in hand and put your movie knowledge to the test. Cruise over to Contemporary Calgary this Thursday and enjoy free admission from 5 to 9 p.m. The gallery opens its doors at no cost the first Thursday of every month! A slew of new exhibitions have opened, there’s a bar and there’s even a DJ playing curated beats in this beautiful space. Experience one of Calgary’s most happening cultural hubs, and get inspired: I know I will.
The Diva Royale Drag Queen Dinner Show is taking place this Friday at Rated Ultra Lounge. This event series includes drag performers, celebrity impersonators, and drink specials. And it starts at 7 p.m., so you can even get home at a reasonable time. Billy Idol is also playing the ‘dome on Friday, if you want to be Dancing with Yourself.
Several festivals are starting this week as well! Taste of Calgary is running from Thursday until Monday in a new location, along the river pathway on the corner of 4th Ave and 9th Street. Experience great local eats, international cuisines, and even take in some music.
Calgary Bluesfest also kicks off on Thursday and goes till Sunday on MainStage at Millennium Park, followed by the nightly Twilight Blues dance parties. There’s tons of diverse blues rock on programmed, including Monkeyjunk from Ottawa.
For the EDM heads, Chasing Summer Festival rages from Saturday to Sunday at the Max Bell Centre Festival Grounds, which includes a headlining performance from deadmou5 on Sunday.
And finally, the Calgary Fringe Theatre Festival begins this Friday, showcasing independent theatre and performance (and offering free hugs) all over Calgary into next week.
