A creative entrepreneur, designer and community builder, Albert Myles Mejia is known for blending street culture with purposeful storytelling. He is the creative director of By Myles Design & Print Studios and the founder of Legal Hustle Clothing, now a retired Calgary streetwear brand that helped redefine the word “hustle” into a positive connotation.
A 2017 SAIT Outstanding Young Alumni award recipient, Mejia also created YYC SOLEdiers, Calgary’s recognized sneaker community. With a background spanning apparel design, marketing and grassroots events, his work continues to champion youth inspiration, culture and creativity while helping brands and communities bring bold ideas to life.
1. “Whenever I need a break from my home office or a good coffee meeting spot, my go-to is Fenyk Coffee by Canada Olympic Park. It’s great coffee, a solid workspace and always good vibes.”
2. “I grew up near it, and it’s still one of the best areas in the city for diverse eats. From my college days until now, one of my favourite meals has always been the Trio Platter from Shawarma Palace.”
3. “When my wife and I want to get out with the kids, our go-to spot is Bowness Park in any season. From the winter skating trail and bonfires to summer days at the wading pool, train rides and paddle boating on the lagoon.”
4. “If you’re a wrestling fan like me and want to catch some good ol’ wrasslin’, my favourite events featuring amazing local and international talent are hosted by Dungeon Wrestling at the Victoria Pavilion.”
5. “I can’t talk about streetwear and sneakers without shouting out some of my favourite Calgary-grown spots. When I’m fiending for new kicks or a dope fit, Less 17 is a must. But my all-time favourite is a Calgary brand I have to shout out, Milk Run.”
