CUFF’s annual Saturday morning cartoon party draws a crowd still in their PJs
The 21st Calgary Underground Film Festival took over the Globe Cinema from April 18 to 28 — making this year the biggest and best CUFF yet.
One CUFF highlight each year is the all-you-can-eat cereal and cartoon party on the first Saturday of the festival.
Dressed in jammies and costumes, the crowd of kids and kids-at-heart relish the Saturday morning ritual of watching cartoons and eating their fill of sugar cereals — but supersized with both of the Globe Cinema’s theatres in use and a full buffet of breakfast cereal and multiple milk options.
The CUFF team curates both the three hours of cartoons from the ‘30s through to the ‘90s interspersed with vintage commercials and PSAs, as well as the wide selection of sugary treats.
