The 21st Calgary Underground Film Festival took over the Globe Cinema from April 18 to 28, making this year’s CUFF the biggest and best yet.
One CUFF highlight each year is the all-you-can-eat cereal and cartoon party on the first Saturday of the festival. Dressed in jammies and costumes, the crowd of kids and kids-at-heart relish the Saturday morning ritual of watching cartoons and eating their fill of sugar cereals, but supersized with both of the Globe Cinema’s theatres in use and a full buffet of breakfast cereal and multiple milk options. The CUFF team curates three hours of cartoons from the ‘30s through to the ‘90s, interspersed with vintage commercials, PSA’s, and a wide selection of sugary treats.
